I just got back from a fieldtrip...

with my nephews 1st grade class. While I love being an active "parent" with both of my nephew's classes, I always see or hear something that just messes with me. It was a few things today, but the first was a little boy's hair. I'm mad as hell that one mother is allowing her 6-7 year old son walk around with connected braids. You know the braids that you do in someone's hair when it isn't long enough for cornrows so you divide what should be one cornrow into 3, 4, or even 5 sections and braid each individually and then connect them. It's obvious that the little boy has ungrowable hair so send him to the barber for a cut. Please. The second is this little talking ass girl who we will call Charmaine. Chairmaine was in his Kindergarten class so I've seen her in action before. She talks and talks and instructs and assists and talks all day long. This is probably my 5th or 6th visit to the school this year and have noticed that everytime I visit, her seat is somewhere else in the class. In early September she sat next to my nephew, in late September her seat was moved to the first row of the class, in October her desk was on the other side of the class. Today I see she is sitting next to the teachers desk. She's not what I would consider a straight "bad" ass child, but dammit I have never seen a little girl that damn manish in my life. And when your chid is that manish you should always be required to be a trip parent.

LOL I'm sure she is the Charmaine of her class! If so, this goes out to you as well. But I know you are an active parent so you are cleared at this point.
