Am I Enough?

Not sure if you all saw the Single Ladies episode where Val's man asked her to spend the rest of her life w/ him without marriage. He was a "great catch"...sweet, adoring, stable, handsome, sincere, etc. and had been married 2 or 3 times in the past. He just wasn't willing to do it again. So he offered Val a lifetime commitment, just without the marriage and the ring.

Her friends criticized her for walking out on the offer, but from Val's perspective, how could she give up something she's dreamed of her whole life?

So I'm just wondering...if put in the same situation, would your man's love be enough if offered w/o any hope of marriage?

I think it all depends on what I want and what I'm willing to sacrifice for love. That's hard b/c its easy to say "I would walk away" when I'm not put into the same predicament but I also view it the same way as being in a long term "committed" relationship waiting on a ring...when do you walk away. Of course your girls will say "walk away" but when LOVE and someone's HEART is involved, just walking away isn't always the option.

So to answer your question - I do want at least one more child and I am not willing to compromise on that decision unless its absolutely necessary (health reasons/age). I think I'd be satisfied w/the lifetime of love committment although some would say its easier for him to walk away but shoot, he'd do it with or without the ring.

I think it has to be something you actually want. For some, the goal so to speak, is marriage. However, there are couples who have solid relationships without marriage. Which goes to the statement that commitment is a state of mind. Marriage doesn't change the commitment.

But if marriage is what a person wants then he or she should not compromise their standards. Their always going to want that even if the relationship resembles a marriage it won't be the same for the person.

I think I could do a long term committed relationship. I still want a diamond though!!
