Preacher Man...

Y'all know how we are, and what we do...My question is: Could any of you see yourself dating/marrying a preacher? In the past I declined dating a man b/c of his preaching profession, and now I'm faced with it again. Though I consider myself spiritual and have a relationship with God and attend church, I'm really hesitant with dating men of the cloth. Am I wrong for passing up a good man that has chosen to live his life this way?

Well, I don't think I would be able to do it at this moment. I am not living the way a preacher man would what his wife to live at this moment. However I am gettin older and I want to become more spiritual and get more closer to god as well as my children. However, I want to leave the bad boys alone finally and upgrade to benifts and blue suits and breifcases. LOL :)

I don't think you are wrong, but rather doing yourself a disservice by automatically elimating a man of a certain profession without getting to know him. The thing is, people of the cloth are men first. You have to take time out to get to know them first and take it from there. It's not like you don't go to church or believe in God. It may get in the way of certain things you may or may not believe in (i.e pre-marital sex, shacking), but I don't think you should just turn him down at the door. But before you go the the church picnic, let me know. I will coordinate the outfit since I don't want wearing the cut off shirt and low rider jeans to the function. LOL

I guess I would have to agree with Pri, you should get to know him first before closing that door. I mean a man can only control a woman as much as she allows him to. In dating and getting to know him, he would in turn get to know you and what you're like. And I think we all want a man that believes in God and has some level of commitment to Him. We all want good role models for our children and once you get into the wifey mode, I doubt you will be thinking about half shirts and droppin it at the club. It will probably be more like getting a drink with your girls and showing off your classiness.

Not to be fresh, but men in the church aren't always on the straigh and narrow...they want ass too LOL

Ok seriously......I'm not sure I could do it right now...as my "boo" says, I have the mouth of a sailor so I don't think that he'd even want to get to know me at this time. And like Keera said, at this point in my life, right now, I'm not ready for that type of man.

Oh and Keera...YES....we need benefits, blue suits and briefcases!!! Love that statement :)
